Fluid transmissions are used wherever large forces have to be transmitted efficiently and reliably and high shear forces occur. Applications range from rail vehicles to turbo couplings and hydraulically controlled valve technology, especially in critical operating conditions.
The mineral oil-based ADDINOL flow gear oil SGL 18 has proven itself for many years as an operating fluid for fluid technology in locomotives and stationary systems and has been approved by Deutsche Bahn AG, Voith Turbo, Hydac Cooling and Lingl. In order to cover a wider temperature range and achieve optimal results at both low temperatures and peak temperatures, we have expanded our range to include the synthetic ADDINOL fluid transmission oil SGL 18 S.
ADDINOL flow gear oil SGL 18 S is based on high-quality synthetic base oils with a naturally high viscosity index and lubricates reliably in the temperature range between -40 and +120 °C, short-term temperature peaks up to +145 °C are possible. The fluid is characterized by high scuffing capacity, reliable wear protection and the best micro-pitting capacity. This supports optimal protection of the components and their long service life. SGL 18 S shows high oxidation, temperature and aging stability in use and achieves extended service intervals. Steel and non-ferrous metals are reliably protected against corrosion even at high temperatures. Thanks to above-average interface properties, entrained air is safely separated. In Voith’s LAV test at 80 °C, ADDINOL fluid transmission oil SGL 18 S achieved a value of less than 1% after 25 seconds; for comparable products this is well over 2%. Foam formation remains at a minimal level.
Possible areas of application:
- Modern, powerful hydrodynamic transmissions
- Flow and control valves in locomotives, forklifts and other vehicles
- Power transmission medium in stationary systems
- Special hydraulic systems, fluid couplings and torque converters
